Every year I get about 30 phone calls from book vendors, I dread hearing "I'm calling you on behalf So and So book vendor to offer you this wonderful selection of books". Being in Peru, most vendors think hearing the words "books in English" will grant them access to our budget, but being an American School that causes the opposite. We want books in Spanish and in order to get them I make the Spanish Books Fair.
- For Primary School books no paperbacks
- No English books, it's called Spanish book fair for a reason
- No activity or puzzle books
- No Pop-ups
Of course vendors only pay attention the No English books rule and as we go through the books teachers have suggested we should buy, all the paperbacks and pop-ups are left behind. Day 2 of the book fair means I need to double check all the books chosen so far. I go vendor by vendor cross checking the books with our catalogue and at the end of the day I have several lovely piles of Spanish books ready to be checked one last time and then divided by EC/K, Primary School and Secondary School.
